Parkway Christian Center
Missions

At Parkway, we understand that missions are not just a fun trip around the world but a lifestyle. Missions work is something that takes place at home as well as abroad. We focus on several ministries that allow us to reach our local and global communities. These ministries are dedicated to reaching people and making an impact on their lives.

Romania has a special place in the hearts of our congregation here at Parkway Christian Center. On a monthly basis, we support ministries that reach out to young girls who are caught in a lifestyle of selling themselves on the streets. These ministries  provide them a place to live and to hear the truth concerning God's love for them. We also support ministries that provide training to Romanian pastors who can then return to their cities and villages to become effective in sharing the Gospel.

Short-term mission trips are planned periodically to witness the results of our support.

Parkway Christian Center has been involved in Central America for many years supporting church plants, church and orphanage construction, as well as providing training for Missionettes and local ministries. Monthly support allows missionaries to provide leadership and training.

Short-term mission trips are planned periodically to assist with construction, medical missions, and training.

A special connection between our church and Bishop Gary Burd was formed in 2004. PCC has joined Bishop Gary in providing a ministry that serves Bikers that make the run from California to Washington D.C., who ride for the P.O.W.s and M.I.A.s.  Our team assists in serving on the hydration team and serving meals in the camp grounds to many who make the ride.

Our pastor is committed in being among the many churches in our nation to say "thank you" to the men and women who have served and are serving our country in fighting for our freedom, which allows us the liberty to worship as we choose.

Parkway Christian Center will begin hosting a Celebrate Recovery ministry beginning in 2009. Our leadership team is in the process of intensive training to prepare to launch this ministry.  Celebrate Recovery, a ministry birthed out of Saddleback Community Church, fits the mission of PCC, which includes touching those individuals that are hurting in our community. If you would like more information concerning Parkway's Celebrate Recovery, please call our church office or email at info@parkwaychristiancenter.org

Christmas is a special time, and every December the congregation of PCC makes sure that children throughout the city of Chesapeake are blessed.  Parkway's Bless The Children (formerly connected with Operation Blessing) has been highlighted on the CBN 700 CLUB.  It is a focal point every year as we share not only presents but the message of the greatest gift ever given, Jesus Christ.
